The Medical Transcriptionist II is responsible for transcribing patient information into laboratory information system (LIS), confidential medical reports, and other data by pathologists and other healthcare providers in order to document laboratory data and interpretations.
*Please note candidates must be comfortable being onsite 75% of the time*
Transcribes all relevant report types according to designated priority.
Maintains and researches current terminology and professional style; refers to glossaries and other reference materials as necessary.
Directs report destination (e.g., print, fax, transmit, upload) of transcribed report according to established policy.
Operates standard office and dictation equipment; operates hardware and software necessary to facilitate recovery procedures.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
The Medical Transcriptionist must be able to type 50 wpm.
3+ years' work experience in medical transcription.
Requires knowledge of medical terminology in different areas of specialty, especially those related to Dermatology, GI, and GU.
Ability to operate word processing equipment, transcription equipment, and other equipment as necessary.
Ability to decipher various forms of handwriting and read client requests and enter them into LIS.
Ability to work with Client Services to resolve patient and client issues.
Excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
