Systems Architect 110-150K Salary

What We Need:
Responsible for the architectural design, development, and deployment of the enterprise's overall systems. Defines system solutions based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery. Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies and standards. The position requires staying on top of the industry trend and new technologies for system architecture. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms. It is expected that this role will work closely with multiple IT departments to assist in the creation, execution and maintenance of secure systems, providing guidance in the design phase and oversight/auditing in the execution and production phases of system life cycle.

What You Need: 

  • BA/BS in related field preferred. Equivalent experience/certification acceptable.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical information systems positions.
  • Experience leading “matrixed” teams and resources.
  • Azure Solution Architect certification (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in both Linux and Windows server environments
  • Experience with security architecture and operations in a SaaS environment
  • Experience with assets that operate on premise, in a collocated environment, and cloud hosting providers.
  • Strong experience with Azure technologies: Policies, virtualization options, runbooks, pipelines, cost management, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS technologies, storage technologies and resource groups
  • Highly developed communication skills. Ability to speak, write and present to various technical and non-technical audiences and convey complex security concepts in terms appropriate to the audience.
  • Familiarity with audit procedures such as SAS70, PCI, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.
  • A track-record of working with IT business partners to implement standards and enforce system policies from the development through decommissioning of systems.
  • Preferred experience health care (HIPAA, PHI, etc.) with laboratory information systems and/or electronic health records
  • Experience with cost management and optimization techniques around technology operations
  • Experience in mobility solutions and wireless networks
  • Understanding of multiple software development lifecycle frameworks: Waterfall, Agile, DevOps
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and code promotion processes
  • Technology experience with multiple of the following:
    • Firewall and router configuration
    • MS WINDOWS, UNIX/LINUX operating systems
    • Azure technologies
    • Database technologies (MS SQL/ MySQL)
    • Creation and maintenance of training and documentation for end-users
    • Operating System and Application Hardening
    • Scripting

What You Will Do:

  • Establish and nurture a reputation of excellence in system architecture company-wide and lead the company to highly robust and effective system operation.
  • Act as the owner of the IT systems architecture standards.
  • Forge strong and effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure the visibility of, and compliance with, practical and effective designs and policies.
  • Provide high-level requirements and architectures and consult with other teams on the proper implementation of systems that meet the requirements of the requested solution.
  • Manage monitoring systems and operational procedures to ensure high availability and resilient solutions.
  • Translate technical concepts into business terms and assist management in understanding the potential business impact of system design and implementation of different solution options.
