Pay: $21.50/hour
Shift: 1st Monday-Friday

 

Job Summary

This entry-level Research Technician II position is open in the Next Generation Sequencing lab.

Preferred applicant will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field (preference will be given to recent graduates).
  • 6 months to 1 year lab experience
  • Strong technical skills; microbiology, pipetting experience
  • Attention to detail and multitasking abilities are critical.
  • Very good interpersonal skills are required to interact with small lab staff

Job Responsibilities

  • Next Generation Sequencing – platforms include Illumina MiSeq, Nextseq, and NovaSeq
  • Work with Research groups to develop, implement, and perform NGS laboratory processes
  • Assist in identification, research, optimization, and implementation of new processes that serve new applications or improve data quality or efficiency of sequencing pipelines.
