Job Description: Research Chemist
Intertek is a leader in contract laboratory services, regulatory guidance and supply chain assurance within the pharmaceutical industry. They are looking for a Research Chemist to join their Extractables and Leachables department. The Research Chemist serves an important function at Intertek Pharmaceutical Services. You will have responsibility for developing, validating, and analysis of mass spectrometry methods. Essential Duties:

  • Plan, perform and complete complex projects
  • Develop and validate analytical methods
  • Assist with project cost estimates
  • Review analyses and documentation on completed projects
  • Write technical reports, prepare bill memos
  • Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of new equipment and technology
  • Troubleshoot problems and perform investigations when necessary
  • Communicate with clients to address questions and provide project updates

Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry or related degree + 5 years of mass spectrometry (coupled with either liquid or gas chromatography) OR
  • MS in Chemistry or related degree + 2 years of mass spectrometry OR
  • PhD in Chemistry or related degree with mass spectrometry focused experience
  • Strong Mass Spectrometry experience, used either LC/MS or GC/MS in research
  • Experience in chemical structure determination from LC/MS data or GC/MS data interpretation
