QC Inspector – Receiving
SUMMARY:
Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates
statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Competently able to
inspect at one assigned production department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned as company’s needs dictate.
? Interprets discrete job routine sheet, artwork, and specifications and confers with management
or other staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
? Works with production personnel to ensure cleanliness/sanitation of production equipment
prior to production startup.
? Selects products for tests as specified stages in production process, and tests products for
variety of qualities such as moisture, pH, organoleptic attributes, etc.
? Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
? Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
? Crossed trained in other departments.
? Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to
measure performance.
? Oversees Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and reports any infractions to the
appropriate Supervisor/Manager.
? Essential duties are performed with regular oversight of work by Lead Person, Q.C.
Supervisor, Assistant Q.C. Manager, or Q.C. Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability
to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference,
and volume.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must have knowledge of Database software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing
software.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.
