QA Product Inspector II

The Level II Inspector must be able to perform all of the core job duties of a Level I Inspector role.
As assigned, searches and identifies the key characteristics of the drawings (blueprints) for each item listed on the customer purchase order and verifies approved sources for product traceability and testing requirements; Creates a Master Inspection Report in the computer system to record all phases of the inspection process
• • Inspects a sample of the product visually and dimensionally and measures the key characteristics, utilizing the proper hand tools and gages; Verifies conformity to the customer purchase order and Quality Plan specifications, including product quantity, documentation, required certifications, testing, packaging, or necessity for further inspection or testing
• • Records inspection results and compliance by assigning a “Pass, Fail or Rejection” status in the electronic inspection log, with additional notes, as applicable
• • Transfers compliant orders with a “Pass” status to the documentation inspection stage, accompanied by the corresponding inspection reports and compliance documentation
• • Informs Q.A. Supervisor of non-conforming issues or rejections and requests verification of the need for an Orange Tag hold
• • Upon confirmation of non-conforming products, creates an Orange Tag label and transfers the entire order and Orange Tag label to the Orange Tag rack for investigation and corrections

High School Diploma or GED

Related college or certificate program training preferred

Minimum of 3 years industry experience

Hands-on experience with the use of hardware measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, ring gages, thread plug gages, optical comparative and Johnson gage or other direct-reading engagement tool, is preferred

Must be able to perform core job duties of a Level I inpsector

Certificates of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing “G.D.&T” and Blueprint Reading
