Seeking a Scientist for our client – a global pharmaceutical powerhouse, renowned for their expertise in developing and manufacturing a wide array of world-class pharmaceutical drugs, life-saving vaccines, and innovative animal-health products.
Type: One year contract, possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize and execute biochemical, ELISA and cellular assays.
- Utilize liquid handling and other laboratory instrumentation as needed.
- Learn and utilize LIMS (laboratory Information Management System) system for plate registration, generation, and data tracking.
- Data analysis
- Collaborate with colleagues within the department and on multi-disciplinary discovery project teams to align in vitro assay strategy, provide scientific contribution to research projects/programs, and deliver project goals.
- Properly document and report experimental findings, assay protocols, and comply with all laboratory safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS with 5+ years of experience OR PhD in a Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering (or a related discipline) with 0-3years within industry/academics; specifically drug discovery.
- Broad experience and understanding in the application of biochemical gel-based and plate-based assays to detect RNA and protein products, including plate-based ELISAs.
- Hands-on assay execution and troubleshooting skills and proficiency with techniques to screen and/or assess the pharmacology of Discovery targets.
- Proficiency with different throughput screening formats & screening technologies: ELISA, DNA and RNA isolation, electrophoresis of both proteins and sequencing-grade DNA/RNA at single nucleotide resolution, and familiarity with liquid handlers and laboratory automation.
