Our cosmetics partner who develops, manufactures and distributes its own full line of skin care and color cosmetic products is in search of a Packaging Line Mechanic who will work in large manufacturing units and is responsible to optimize the production and packing of goods by ensuring the seamless functioning of all machinery. Such individuals require having a sound understanding of all safety norms and following industry standards of functioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Please note that the following description is not meant to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities and metrics but to highlight some key ones).
- Set-up, adjust, and changeover of: tube and bottle fillers, cappers, labeling equipment, Videojet coders, cartoners, and bundle wrappers
- Troubleshoot and adjustment of powder pressing and handling equipment
- Diagnose malfunctions, repair and replace defective parts with the assistance of equipment manuals
- Analyze mechanical and operational problems and take corrective action
- Perform reactive maintenance and respond to equipment failures per the demands of supervision and lead people
- Monitor lines for malfunctions, recurring problems or unsafe conditions. Make adjustments to maintain quality production
- Read and understand schematics and technical drawings
- Significantly contribute to the meeting of daily production goals, up-time standards, and deadlines
- Work with Q.A. and validation groups to attain operational requirements
- Perform preventive maintenance
- PLC experience a plus
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time to meet company goals
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 2-5 years experience as a Mechanic in a production area. High school or Technical School diploma.
- cGMP knowledge is a plus.
- Must have knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations.
Language Ability:
Must speak/read/write in English as primary language of business. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
