The Position:
We are seeking a motivated laboratory operations associate to assist with routine laboratory operations and help implement compliance in a clinical laboratory setting. This includes day-to-day laboratory operations, sample and equipment management, and implementing new processes within the lab for laboratory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Inventory and tracking of in-coming and outgoing samples
- Maintaining equipment maintenance schedules and engage with vendors to ensure equipment receives timely calibration and preventative maintenance
- Engaging with vendors for non-routine maintenance or technical support
- Support asset induction and qualification of new equipment
- Ensure equipment is maintained according to SOPs and manufacturer’s recommendations
- Performing routine in-house maintenance work on some lab equipment
- Reviewing and uploading vendor work into asset management database
- Maintain reagent and consumables inventory and ensure lab is stocked appropriately to support ongoing and planned clinical studies
- Manage receipt of incoming packages and maintaining inventory order sheet
- Support drafting and review of new SOPs and other controlled documents
- Assist with organizing and archiving completed documentation and help to create and maintain an organized system for storage of physical documentation
Desired Education and Skills:
- B.S degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience required
- 1-2 years of demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience in an industry setting preferred
- Ability to follow strict laboratory methods and SOPs
- Strong attention to detail required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Experience with computer software’s (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Experience with asset management or inventory management systems preferred
