An innovative clinical-stage biotech company that focuses on developing novel cell therapy is excited to share they are hiring for a Molecular Technician. As a Molecular Tech, you will be responsibility for performing all laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner, including performing specimen preparation and clinical test analyses to acceptable levels of analytical performance. As a successful Molecular Tech, you should have 3-5 years of experience in molecular biology with solid, hands-on experience with qPCR, and have your Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field, preferably in Molecular Biology.

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm (occasional weekends)
Salary: $60-70k/yr.

Responsibilities of the Molecular Technologist:

  • Responsible for performing DNA/RNA extractions, PCR and/or qPCR runs
  • Assisting in protocol development and troubleshooting issues
  • Maintaining proficiency in the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical testing and understanding the quality control parameters
  • Adhering to the laboratory’s quality control policies and documenting all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed
  • Providing hands-on back-up support to other laboratory personnel in the performance of all operational tests as required
  • As necessary, documenting corrective actions taken by the laboratory when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
  • Accurately report data under GXP specifications
  • Position may require up to 10% travel, given the companies multiple locations


  • Familiarity with basic precautions needed when working with DNA/RNA during extraction and subsequent quality control
  • Familiarity with basic molecular technologies including but not limited to RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)-based methodologies including Real Time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR).
  • Familiarity with operation of basic laboratory equipment and maintenance
  • Familiarity with FLOW cytometry approaches and techniques is preferred but not required
  • Experience or familiarity with cell culture is a plus


  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic laboratory skills (solution preparation, pipetting with single channel and multichannel pipettes)
  • Familiarity with word processing (MS Word) and data management (MS Excel) and Laboratory Management Systems. Familiarity with R is preferred
  • Must be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correcting the problems or immediately notifying the laboratory supervisor or manager of such problems


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related life sciences field, preferably molecular biology
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Molecular biology field with the emphasis on qPCR techniques.
  • Experience with GLP, GMP, GCP and /or other quality systems
  • Experience in Sequencing preferred
  • Effective oral and communication skills

  • Excellent time-management
  • Familiarity with QuantStudio equipment preferred
