Job Description
The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Manager position is primarily responsible for supporting the LIMS system within the Quality Control Department. Approximately 50% of their time on user assistance, such as building and modifying tests, specs, sampling plans, templates and other user-managed information, performing new user training and other basic troubleshooting for users. The other 50% of the time will be spent on report design (Jasper) and improvement initiatives such as instrument intefaces and page configuration or functionality changes. The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Manager is the liaison between QC and IT in areas related to system implementation and maintenance. Responsible for implementing and maintaining laboratory instrument interfaces with LIMS and implementing and maintaining statistical Quality Control software interface for charting and data analysis/trending purposes. Responsible for responding and resolving QC system users inquires and is the technical lead for QC process improvement projects. Responsible for reports generation and management of information stored in LIMS for statistical analysis, interpretation of data, and investigating causes.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum of five plus years of experience in information system and / or a laboratory setting related to information system. Basic system administration experience. Previous work in a regulated environment (FDA, EPA, etc.) is preferred, but not required. Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills. Ability to trouble shoot issues and provide productive solutions. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet time constraints with limited supervision. Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries required. Systems used: LabVantage LIMS, PLSQL Developer, iReport, Business Objects, Excel and Word.
