Exciting new opportunity with a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company for a 1 year contract assignment!

Local to Wilson, NC  as a Contract opportunity, the Laboratory Sample/Material Coordinator is responsible for Retention Samples Management, Annual Examination of Retention Samples, Record Management and other Quality Assurance related functions. To be successful as a Laboratory Sample/Material Coordinator, you should possess knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within Quality Assurance, and a clear understanding of pharmaceutical operation systems. This role is perfect for someone has 1 year of quality assurance experience within the pharmaceutical industry that is eager to grow within the sample & material management aspect of the field.

Schedule: flexible 8am-5pm, 7am-4pm, 9am-6pm.

Salary: $22-25/hr.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Retention Samples Management, responsible for the execution of the retention samples end to end process
    • Retrieving and logging the retention samples. o Inspection of the retention samples and confirmation of quantity of samples retrieved.
    • Transporting, labeling, scanning, storing, and discarding the retention samples.
    • Identifying and reporting discrepancies as needed.
    • Managing requests associated to retention samples.
  • Annual Examination of Retention Samples, responsible for the execution of the Annual Examination of Retention Samples Program
    • Annual Examination Protocol issuance, execution, and summary.
    • Identifying and reporting discrepancies as needed.
  • Record Management, responsible for retention, retrieval and disposal of Batch Records.
  • Participates in internal GMP audits and inspections
  • Drafts and reviews SOPs related to the operations under their responsibility
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities (business and compliance excellence)
  • Demonstrate leadership by maintaining a safe workplace and identifying actions to prevent safety incidents.


  • High School Diploma required.
  • Possesses a basic knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in the Quality Assurance discipline, including the knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical operations systems.
  • Ability to perform routine assignments and develops competence by performing structured work assignments.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve routine and standard problems.
  • Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others and also seeks advice/information from others when addressing serious business issues.
  • Promotes the team’s effectiveness through actions that demonstrate respect and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
  • Speaks up on tough issues and expresses views and ideas at the right time while actively encouraging team members to make suggestions and share ideas.
  • Works to develop new skills and abilities; assist other team members, including helping with developmental activities.
  • Readily accepts performance feedback and incorporates this feedback into future performance and use new problem solving tools to resolve issues
  • Ability to interpret company Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for daily operations preferably with experience in GMP
  • Developing technical writing capabilities and is able to compile straightforward investigations and procedures.
  • Ability to independently respond to basic requests for data and trending of data.
