Pay: 110K Starting Salary
Schedule: Monday-Friday7am-3:30pm
Location: Ashtabula, Ohio

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise lab employees; Includes maintaining work schedule, approving weekly timecards, providing necessary training, selecting employees as required.
  • Develops and follows procedures for laboratory compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and cGMP requirements (Food and Pharma).
  • Ensures the training, proficiency, and development of laboratory technicians in the areas of raw material, finished product testing, and cGMP programs.
  • Monitors, creates, and troubleshoots analytical methods to ensure accuracy and to reduce method variability.
  • Reports and evaluates product and equipment nonconformances working with Quality Assurance in root cause determination and corrective actions.
  • Ensures standardization, maintenance, and optimization of QC lab data inputs and outputs including analytical testing schedules for internal and external testing, as well as KPI’s and metrics for success.
  • Maintains QC laboratory equipment including calibration program, selection, installation, validation, MSA, Gage R&R, and maintenance schedules.
  • Works directly with plant operations to ensure quality control of products, including final release of finished goods and raw materials.
  • Establishes standards of service for customers or clients using qualitative or quantitative techniques.
  • Ensures Lab operates within budget. Prepares reports documenting QC Lab performance.
  • Counsel employees and document performance including performance reviews.
  • Provides oversight of the HCl Production Planning and provides back-up to the HCl Production Planner as required.

Base Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a cGMP Food or Pharmaceutical regulated laboratory
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or similar science field
  • 5 years direct analytical laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent management program
  • New Analytical Instrumentation (Gauge and R&R study)
  • Experience with ICP-MS
  • cGMP experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of laboratory experience in food or pharmaceutical setting
  • cGLP, ISO, USP-NF, FCC, HACCP desired
  • Ability to organize and supervise a variety of projects and tasks
  • Knowledge of analytical methods and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control techniques
  • ISO 9001 and 14001 Standards awareness
