Histology Tech – 2nd shift

We are looking for a Histology Technician to join our team and gain experience in a high volume, fast paced pathology laboratory.

Location: Austin, TX
Hours: Monday – Friday; Second Shift- 2pm-10:30pm
Pay Range: (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Embedding; microtomy, cutting and mounting paraffin sections onto microscopic slides
  • Prepare slides for routine H & E and special stain procedures
  • Maintain records and documentation
  • Troubleshoot areas of processing, embedding, cutting, staining
  • File paraffin blocks and microscopic slides
  • Special Stains rotation
  • Ensure compliance with local, federal, CLIA, CAP, and OSHA guidelines
  • Participate in all continuing education programs required to keep certification current.
  • Immunohistochemistry coverage.

Education/ Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a school of Histotechnology accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS
  • HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a fast paced, high-volume laboratory with documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience.
