Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with process owners to document requirements for existing and new products and procedures. This includes the development of standard operating procedures and forms using proper change control.
  • Ensures the Safety Program is properly communicated and executed within the organization, ensuring conformance to the ISO standards, requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop, train, and audit to ISO 14001, quality, and OSHA safety training initiatives and standards to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Coach, Mentor and Lead employees in ISO 14001, quality, and OSHA safety training initiatives.
  • Communicate and Lead ISO 14001 Registrar Audits for certification, surveillance, and re-certification.
  • Apply risk analysis and review of existing processes where potential failures could occur and implement Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) to create, track and monitor process variance. Knowledgeable of 8D, 5S Quality methods tools.
  • Conducting a management review yearly and reporting of the ISO 14001system.
  • Lead Safety Committee to address safety related issues, identify hazards in the workplace and apply risk mediation to mitigate and or eliminate potential safety hazards.
  •  Document, track, and investigate safety incidents and plant hazards.
  • Collaborate with functional managers in the identity and use of personnel protective equipment (PPE), requirements and PPE qualification for employees.
  •  Administer and update the QMS Software program for all ISO and Safety Requirements.
  • Sample and data collection and reporting of EPA required samples to authorities.
  • Hazardous and nonhazardous waste profiling. Inspect, document, and report plant waste streams to management. Work with waste facilities to coordinate removal of waste per EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Create and maintain all compliance documents including safety data sheets, free trade agreements, declarations of conformity, and product information statements.
  • Learn to use the company’s SAP system to create safety data sheets, purchase requisitions, and bill of material and routings for each product at the specified sites.
  • Answer inquiries and complete any compliance related documents internally, and at the request of customers or government authorities.
  •  Maintain relevant training certifications.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in quality/environment/occupational health and safety.
  • Capacity and willingness to travel.
