Our privately held, life sciences client who is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the most fragile infants through the harmony of nature and science is currently seeking a Data Scientist Manager to join their fast growing team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees EDC design and build to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Assists in production and review of FDA submission deliverables
  • Oversees database lock and study close out activities
  • Uses a variety of advanced statistical software, methods, and techniques to gather, analyze, visualize, and interpret research data to derive useful information for research data
  • Oversees data acquisition and management
  • Mentors data managers and associate data managers
  • Advises and assists in the development of inferences and conclusions, as appropriate
  • Assists in the preparation of clinical trial documents, reports, protocols, brochures, scientific abstracts, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and regulatory communications
  • Assists in preparation and approval of data management documents: Data Management Plans, Data Review Plans, Edit Check Specifications, Statistical Analysis Plans
  • Maintains the highest level of clinical research standards to ensure validity and reproducibility of results
  • Performs careful data cleaning activities including data harmonization, prep, wrangling, and mining, as well as handling data discrepancies, missing values, outliers, and data normalization
  • Understands and manages IRB restrictions on data access
  • Maintains data logs for auditing purposes
  • Responsible for building data pipelines between data management/statistical software and EDC's
  • Implements and standardizes use of API's
  • Implements tools and methods to improve coding version control and collaboration for data team members
  • Works with the IT department to build research data infrastructure, developing innovative strategies to leverage research data, as needed to serve the goals of the company
  • Works effectively across clinical research, R&D, and product innovation teams, providing analytic expertise that spans traditional biostatistical and data science (e.g. machine learning)

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree in Biostatistics or applied biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or Computer Science, or other relevant analytic/data science field. At least 5 years of relevant experience in data science/biostatistics, clinical/health outcomes research, in academic or industry settings
  • Proficiency in managing/building data structures to support large datasets
  • Programming expertise relevant to/as needed to execute the above (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS/Stata/SPSS), writing reusable, reproducible, and well-documented code
  • Highly desired experience with Tableau
  • Able to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency, reliability, and accuracy of clinical research data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including working with individuals from various disciplines and cultures
  • Strong adherence to business ethical standards
