Compounder
Growing and stable manufacturer is actively seeking a Compounder to join 2nd shift and start in January!
Schedule: Mon-Fri w/Occasional Saturdays. 2nd shift – hours depend on season:
– Slow Season: 11a-7:30p
– Normal Season: 12p-8:30p
– Peak Season: 3p-3:30am
Target Experience:
– One to two years of relevant experience, with preference in manufacturing, chemical mixing, or packaging. Preference for manufacturing or compounding experience
– Accurately complete batching work orders. Recording raw material quantities and lot numbers. Submitting samples of finished formula to QC for approval, to ensure batches meet required specifications before releasing to production for filling and packaging. Record corrected drum quantities on raw materials.
Job Description
The primary job function of the Compounder/ Batch Mixer is to compound batches to meet production needs in mixing tanks following batch instructions. Compounders are responsible for the overall housekeeping in the Compounding area and performing tank, pump, filter, utensil, hose, and transfer line cleaning and sanitation. Inspecting and performing minor equipment maintenance and process adjustments as needed.
• Accurately completing batching work orders. Recording raw material quantities and lot numbers. Submitting samples of finished formula to QC for approval, to ensure batches meet required specifications before releasing to production for filling and packaging. Record corrected drum quantities on raw materials.
• Organize work area, clean assigned work area. Compliance and safety of the department.
• Read and interpret daily/weekly schedules and work independently.
• Set up/ Changeover – Cleaning sanitizing mix tanks, totes, valves, pumps, filters, hoses, and transfer lines. Ensure tanks and totes are labeled properly. This is to prevent contamination during the batch process and compliance.
• Equipment – Replace and maintain hoses, gaskets and connectors as needed. Trouble shooting pumps.
• Tanker truck unloading – assistance in unloading tanker trucks. Providing samples and COA to QC for approval. Correct tanker hook up to tanks.
• Participate in a continuous improvement culture and using teamwork while performing daily work tasks.
