Clinical Laboratory Associate
$25/hour – Mon-Fri 8am – 4pm – Contract

• Prepare labels for clinical study samples
• Assist in collecting clinical study samples or necropsy.
• Separate clinical study samples for testing including serum, swab effluents, fecal samples, and animal tissue samples
• Maintain an accurate electronic inventory of clinical study samples.
• Accurately record all activities and techniques on data capture forms, research notebooks, and raw data notebooks as required.
• Review and contribute to protocols, planning and execution.
• Create and prepare submissions to diagnostic laboratories and to the laboratories.
• Compile testing information from outside labs and the company’s labs for statistical and reporting within clinical teams.
• Support clinical teams with document scanning, manual data entry and quality control of data entry.

• Receives samples, plans and executes processing and delivery to the appropriate lab for testing. Ability to Plan and create a weekly schedule from multiple lists Maintain number lists with minimal transposition
• Initiates, executes, completes, and communicates duties and related issues
• Maintains a constructive and positive attitude for working on projects and for working at Boehringer Ingelheim.
• Follow Research & Development policies and procedures to maintain high quality standards and follow best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Animal Science, Nutrition, or related science
• 1-2 years of experience in a Clinical Research laboratory setting

Preferred Skills:

• 1-2 years’ experience with Aseptic techniques
• Effective organization and time management skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Detailed oriented with great hand-eye coordination
• Experience with the safe and appropriate use of BSL2 organisms preferred.
• Proactive and resourceful.
• Ability to work across groups and take direction from multiple scientists.
• Competent with Microsoft Office software.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; High level of comfort/ease interacting with all levels of the organization.
