Laboratory Supervisor

A Leading Healthcare Provider specializing in Blood Banking & Phlebotomy is excited to announce their continuous growth in the industry and new need for a Laboratory Manager!

****MUST HAVE a Valid Florida Medical Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking***

Terms: Direct Hire

Salary: $70K-100K DOE

Shift: 10am-6pm or 2nd shift Availbility

Location: Tampa, FL

SUMMARY:
Responsible for oversight of Lab Assistants, Lab Technicians, Medical Technologists and Med Tech Leads.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervises the employees of assigned area ensuring efficiency of workflow and continuity of services
  • Performs the essential functions of the Medical Technologist.
  • Ensures completion of employee departmental orientation, competency testing, compliance training and other mandatory instructions
  • Ensures efficiency and productivity by monitoring the production status and directing the workflow and people resources to meet deadlines and standards
  • Participates in validations, projects and monitoring key performance indicators
  • Provides leadership and technical expertise for the department helping to resolve issues associated with protocol, equipment, interpretation of test results and system interfaces
  • Ensures that all QC/QA procedures, maintenance schedules, instrument calibration and function checks and other regulatory inspection agency requirements are followed
  • Participates in an on-call rotation

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biological science or related field 
  • 3+ years of clinical laboratory experience, preferably within blood banking

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:
****MUST HAVE a Valid Florida Medical Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking***

Supervisor license preferred, not required.
