Laboratory Supervisor
A Leading Healthcare Provider specializing in Blood Banking & Phlebotomy is excited to announce their continuous growth in the industry and new need for a Laboratory Manager on their 2nd shift!
****MUST HAVE a Valid Florida Medical Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking***
Terms: Direct Hire
Salary: $60K-90K DOE
Location: Lakeland, FL
SUMMARY:
Responsible for oversight of Lab Assistants, Lab Technicians, Medical Technologists and Med Tech Leads.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises the employees of assigned area ensuring efficiency of workflow and continuity of services
- Performs the essential functions of the Medical Technologist.
- Ensures completion of employee departmental orientation, competency testing, compliance training and other mandatory instructions
- Ensures efficiency and productivity by monitoring the production status and directing the workflow and people resources to meet deadlines and standards
- Participates in validations, projects and monitoring key performance indicators
- Provides leadership and technical expertise for the department helping to resolve issues associated with protocol, equipment, interpretation of test results and system interfaces
- Ensures that all QC/QA procedures, maintenance schedules, instrument calibration and function checks and other regulatory inspection agency requirements are followed
- Participates in an on-call rotation
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, biological science or related field from an accredited college or university.
3+ years of clinical laboratory experience, preferably within blood banking
1 year of experience within supervision and management required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:
****MUST HAVE a Valid Florida Medical Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking***
Supervisor license preferred, not required.
